Reiði is a beautiful track and I think it deserves respect
So there's a lot of controversy around the episode and, specific to this post, the overall tone of the music relative to the action onscreen. This is post is nothing to do with that. This is more general respect about how Reiði is a legitimately stellar track and one of Therewolf's best imo.
The combinations of instruments from both Asura's Wrath and God of War's OSTs are stellar and create a heavenly yet tragic song about Wrath, ironically tying three ideas together. "Reiði", Wrath, is the first word of the song. Intentionally or not, it's a great nod to The Illiad's use of Wrath as it's first word (mēnin), while also tying Kratos' residence in Norse mythos and Asura's own Wrath, and that acts as the general principle of the track itself. These lyrics are excellently sung by chicknamedd and combined with a score that legit feels ripped from both series. It's gorgeous imo.
Therewolf posted the lyrics of the track on his Youtube Community Page, and they have so many smart ideas that tie back into Kratos' motivations and sorrow with Asura's own journey. It combines the best of both character's stories into a track that's outstanding in it's own right.
Regardless of your feelings on the episode or the use in the fight, I think this track deserves a lot of love in it's own right.
